BB&T Insurance Services training consultant collaborated with training facilitators at Lockdown International to secure a date for the training. Months after attending the training, an attempted burglary occurred at one of the client’s locations. The front desk employee saw a suspicious character and called 911, in addition to alerting the staff. Recalling important points from the training, the employee advised all housekeepers to lock themselves in hotel rooms and then locked herself in the office until the police officers arrived and arrested the suspects. As a result of attending the training, everyone acted quickly, calmly, and confidently under a potentially dangerous, stressful situation. The associates indicated they were not sure how they would have responded if they had not participated in the valuable training provided.

I teach one day a week at UNCC, and it happens to be Tuesdays. Thanks to Sergeant Kopp's training last summer, we knew what to do tonight when the alert came out. We were in our classroom early and chatting. When the alert came out, one student wanted to run, and we said Godspeed. Because of where the classroom is (a basement), the rest of us felt safer there than out in public. We barricaded the doors with tables and chairs, and finally remembered to turn off the lights. Thanks to Sergeant Kopp, we felt empowered and ready to do battle.

"As a veteran police officer serving with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for 30 years and serving on SWAT for 7 years, I know tactics. The ABC’s of Active Survival is the most tactically sound Active Shooter training in the country to date. In addition to being tactically sound and having trained over 13,000 teachers and administrators with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system I can say that this training is the most logical and easiest for average people to understand, remember, and apply in the heat and panic of an Active Shooting event. That is why the second largest school system in the state of North Carolina will only use the ABC’s of Active Survival from Lockdown International."

"At the recent Active Survival Training, ABC'S (Avoid, Barricade, Counter, Survive) by Lockdown International we experienced the perfect safety barometer test our organization needed. The training was informative and instructional, it gave us clear next steps in our efforts to continue to keep our campuses and attenders as safe as possible in difficult situations that could arise.
From volunteers to senior leadership everyone left the training with an A, B, C or S we can immediately apply to our professional or personal lives wherever and whenever an emergency could arise. The instructors Bob and Seth, where very approachable and no question was a "wrong" question. Questions led to more explanations and answers we need here at The Cove. With the ABC'S training we came away with immediate items to implement and more clear next steps to make our campuses safer for all who attend."

"Yesterday was very beneficial! I left feeling that I was armed with a better understanding and skills to survive if ever needed in the event of an active shooter incident. I went straight home and told my husband about the training and some of the tactics we were shown. Thank you for equipping us with the potential to save lives! The Active Survival training was awesome. It was very helpful! I learned a lot especially grateful for the bomb threat information reviewed in the Building Captain’s meeting.
I thought Bob Cooke with Lockdown International, and the message was wonderful! This information was much needed to appeal and shake up our senses that we don't normally use in order to come more aware that our college could be another Columbine one day.....not just at school, but everywhere a person needs to be aware of their surroundings, people, their actions and the warning signs that a person shows that might be leading up to a horrible incident.
When it comes to safety, I like being proactive. It does not need to be downplayed because someone is "sensitive". Being "sensitive" and keeping vital information to yourself about someone's unstableness or obsessions because it might be "upsetting", can get you and others killed. Every employee, whether they like it or not, needs to realize today's reality of how quick things can go South. We do not live in a Mayberry town anymore and should not pretend we still do...

Very eye-opening class. "
